The film OUR NEED FOR CONSOLATION Directed by Dan Levy Dagerman, Produced by Lo Dagerman and Filip Hammarstrom is based on an essay by Stig Dagerman, Producer Lo Dagerman's father and Director Dan Levy Dagerman's grandfather.
The film contextualizes Stig Dagerman's meteoric rise to literary fame and is an immersive collage of images and sound illustrating both the pain and the sense of freedom of the author's essay and features a reading by on camera narrator Stellan Skarsgard.
OUR NEED FOR CONSOLATION was shot in Stockholm, Sweden in a studio and at the house where Stig Dagerman wrote the essay and premiered internationally at the Gothenburg International Film Festival and screened at the Palm Springs International Short Film Festival on it's festival run.
